The white elk - The spirit moose. Approx. 100 animals in the district. A white cow will get "normal" brown offspring every second year.

Vi har fått fisk! Töger och Anders. You will find four large lakes sorrounding Åmotfors. Fishing is sometimes excellent. Gädda (pike), abborre (perch), ål (eel) and gös (pike-perch. In smaller lakes also öring (trout.)

Värdshuset
The Inn started as a coaching inn in the late 18th century. Most of the old parts of todays house was buildt in 1884 and after the railway had arrived. The new parts (to the right) was build in 1978.

Älgen
Not many has a natural size white elk on top of the roof! The animal is made by Mikael Englund and was "christened" by the famous swedish artist Jonas Gardell i 1995.

Her ser du Åmotfors med de fem sjöene rundt. Mot söröst ligger Nysockensjön (merket Flagan på kartet). Mot sörvest ligger Ränken. I nordenden av Hugn ligger Valfjället, golfbanen ligger på neset ved sör-enden av Hugn. Vita Älgen ligger rett over der hvor elven fra Bysjön renner ut i Nysockensjön.

The library. A good book, an open fire and a comfortable sofa is probably the best way to engage in for relaxation. Books in English also.
