Welcome to the homepage of  Värdshuset Vita Älgen ("The White Moose Inn" or "The Spirit Moose Inn" as the First Nations would name it). Hospitable since 1762. Åmotfors is situated by the railway between Oslo and Stockholm. 2 hrs by train to Oslo.  3 hrs to Stockholm. If you fly in, the easiest is Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. Unfortunately train-service is spare but possible. Bus is easier but not as convenient. Easiest though somewhat more expensive, is to let us pick you up by car. You might also rent a car at the Airport.

 Our kitchen is special and personal. We use local ingrediences; meat, fish and vegetables. We don not run a menu as such, but presents our guest with the best of the season. Welcome to enjoy something special.
